fiogf49gjkf0d Dr John Vargo is a member of the Section of Therapeutic Endoscopy, Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
After completion of undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Rochester, Dr Vargo completed an internship and residency at the University Health Sciences Center of Pittsburgh. Dr Vargo completed fellowships in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
A recipient of the inaugural ASGE Career Development Award in 2000, Dr Vargo obtained a Master of Public Health from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and published the first work involving the clinical and economic outcomes of gastroenterologist-administered propofol for endoscopy.
Dr Vargo’s research interests are in the areas of sedation and analgesia, physiologic monitoring, and economic outcomes. He currently serves on the ASGE’s Training and Scientific Committees
