Graft-versus-host disease of the fingers.
This complication of bone marrow transplantation is a progressive and often fatal wasting disease with widespread damage particularly to the skin, liver, gut and lymphoid system. It is mediated by immune competent cells within the bone marrow graft. This slide shows the characteristic nail bed changes.
