Intestinal metaplasia of gastric mucosa.
Intestinal metaplasia is clearly seen in these close-up views of the lesser curvature gastric mucosa (incisura angularis). Complete intestinal metaplasia is present in the darker depressed areas; these areas are better distinguished when seen from a closed angle. Biopsies show Paneth's cells and intestinal goblet cells.
