Prevention of bleeding after polypectomy, and retrieval of resected polyps.
Methods possibly reducing the risk of haemorrhage include the preliminary application of an Endoloop, a device which is placed around the polyp stalk before polypectomy and tightened to occlude the blood supply, and which remains in place after resection of the polyp (Fig. 3.445). A special net (Fig. 3.442) may be used where multiple excised polyps are to be collected.
