Granular cell tumor: esophagus
These usually small white multiple raised oesophageal lesions are benign and of no clinical importance other than in differential diagnosis. The example shown in Fig. 2.179 is unusual in that it is quite large and single, and therefore required biopsy. Pathological examination (Fig. 2.178) shows cells with small nuclei and eosinophilic granular cytoplasm.
