Diffuse type gastric antral vascular ectasia (GAVE).A 35 year old man with alchohol induced chronic liver disease presented with a large upper GI bleed. Endoscopy showed no varices but very impressive gastric antral vascular ectasia. Over the next one week, he required a total of 20 units of blood for recurrent bleeding. He was treated on three sessions with APC and has not had any further bleeding since (over a six month follow up period).
