Foreign body in the stomach.A 19-year old student who accidentally swallowed a face make-up brush. She presented five days after the event, concerned that she had not passed the brush. A plain X-ray showed the plastic handle of the brush - situated in the left upper quadrant.
Two weeks later the object was still in the same position - and was removed from the stomach endoscopically. The stills shows the handle of the brush wedged across the lesser curve of the stomach with the lower part of the brush stuck in the pylorus. The brush was removed with a Dormier basket.
