Small bowel arteriovenous malformation causing hemorrhage
A 43-year-old woman who presented with recurrent gastrointestinal tract bleeding. Eventually identified as an arteriovenous malformation, based in the mesentery of the small bowel.
This had eroded into the small bowel lumen. The angiogram shows the abnormal collection of blood vessels and the operative photograph shows a large bulge of vessels in the mesentery.
