Herpes Simplex Virus Esophagitis.
Ulceration in the esophagus due to Herpes simplex virus. This usually causes severe esophageal pain, such that the patient cannot eat or drink. The patient is usually immunocompromised. Treatment is with acyclovir, or similar specific antiviral.
