Metastases from carcinoma of the stomach.
A 46-year old woman who developed sudden pain and weakness in her neck. A CT scan showed a burst fracture of C3. Ten months previously she had undergone a partial gastrectomy for adenocarcinoma. Five months later she developed a local (gastric) recurrence and underwent chemotherapy. The bone scan shows numerous deposits in the spine and pelvis.
