Infarcted Meckel's diverticulum.
An 18-year-old youth with a one-week history of bloating. Over the
last 24-hours he developed lower abdominal pain with suprapubic
tenderness. Urinalysis showed microscopic haematuria. He was thought
to have appendicitis. At operation a totally infarcted Meckel's diverticulum was found. A band adhesion at the apex of the Meckel's had caused the diverticulum to tort and infarct.
