Behcet's ulceration in the colon.
A 23-year-old woman was admitted with a 5-year history of recurrent mouth, eye, and genital ulceration. She had a 12-hour history of severe abdominal pain. On examination she had generalized abdominal tenderness, with guarding and rigidity. The bowel sounds were absent. At laparotomy she has multiple transmural ulcers of the caecum, ascending, transverse, and descending colon. She had subtotal colectomy with ileo-rectal anastomosis.
She did very well post-operatively.
