(a) An overview of the SBE shows that most of the small bowel distends normally and shows no mural thickening or ulceration, but the last 20cm segment is grossly contracted and irregular in outline (arrows). (b) A spot view of the right iliac fossa shows this segment in more detail. There is very widespread ulceration as well as loss of distensibility.
