(a) The DCBM shows a generalized loss of distensibility of the stomach, with a constant stricture involving the distal body. This was confirmed endoscopically, but endoscopic biopsies on two occasions revealed normal mucosa. (b) A CT of the upper abdomen with IV contrast enhancement confirms marked thickening of the body and antrum of the stomach, with evidence of direct extension of tumour across the lesser sac into the body of the pancreas (arrowheads). This feature was confirmed at operation and the tumour was unresectable.
