Iatrogenic Mallory-Weiss tear.
A 53-year-old woman underwent endoscopy for suspected duodenal ulceration. During the procedure she retched. On scope withdrawal, retroversion in the fundus showed an oozing Mallory-Weiss tear. The tear is in the 5 o'clock position in relation to the endoscope and is gaping widely open. The patient suffered no after-effects.
