Pneumatosis cystoides coli.This 54-year-old male patient had a history of chronic obstructive airway disease and recent mucous discharge per rectum. The DCBE shows multiple gas-filled intramural filling defects in the sigmoid colon (arrows). Although these are visible on DCBE, they may be more obvious on a CT scan. A subserous location is more frequent than in the submucosa.
