Squamous carcinoma of the esophagus.
A 73-year-old man with a three-month history of dysphagia and weight loss. A non-smoker and minimal consumption of alcohol. A barium meal showed a lesion in the mid-esophagus. Endoscopy confirmed an ulcerating lesion with raised, rolled edges and minimal occlusion of the lumen. Biopsy confirmed a squamous cell carcinoma.
