Cholecystitis after a car crash.A 76-year-old man admitted after a motor vehicle crash with long bone fractures. Ten days after admission he developed acute abdominal pain. Signs worsened and an ultrasound showed a gallstone and a thickened gallbladder. An emergency cholecystectomy was performed. The photograph shows the acutely inflamed gallbladder with infarction of the distal half of the gallbladder.
