Leiomyoma of stomach. An 81-year old woman with vague abdominal pain referred for an opinion. A CT scan had been performed and showed a filling defect in the stomach which was reported as a carcinoma. An endoscopy confirmed the mass in the antrum. The mucosa over the lesion was intact and there was a dimple at the apex. The endoscopic features were characteristic of a leiomyoma and a decision was made to treat the patient expectantly. The photograph shows the lesion in the stomach surrounded by contrast.
