Advanced adenocarcinoma in Barrett's esophagus.
A 72-year-old male presented with dysphagia and weight loss. He had a history of heartburn which had improved in recent months. Endoscopy showed a 6 cm length tumor arising within Barrett's esophagus. Biopsies confirmed the presence of a moderately well differentiated adenocarcinoma. Ultrasonography showed metastases in both liver lobes. He was palliated by endoscopic argon plasma coagulation.
