A 61-year-old man admitted with rectal bleeding, which was clinically thought to be likely caused by diverticular hemorrhage. A colonoscopy found severe diverticular disease, an area of colitis and a submucosal lipoma. The area of colitis was in the descending colon and only affected part of the circumference. Histologically shown to be ischemic colitis.
