Heterotopic gastric mucosa in the cervical esophagusHeterotopic gastric mucosa is a congenital anomaly result from incomplete embryonic esophageal epithelialisation process. It consists of gastric mucosa that may occur throughout the gastrointestinal tract, although it is more common in the cervical esophagus.
