Herpetic oesophagitisA 46-year-old gentleman underwent an OGD to investigate symptoms of dysphagia and odynophagia. He had a history of ANCA negative limited Wegener's granulomatosis for which he was taking methotrexate. Endoscopy revealed a long linear oesophageal ulcer with a yellow appearance. Histology confirmed a diagnosis of Herpetic oesophagitis. An interval endoscopy following a course of oral aciclovir showed complete resolution of the ulcer.
