Perianal abscess.An acutely painful, tender perianal abscess has developed. A small perianal wart lies opposite. Risk factors for perianal abscess include inflammatory bowel disease (particularly Crohn’s disease), hematological disorders and other immunodeficiency states. Incision and drainage of the abscess is normally followed by complete recovery.
