Anastomotic ulceration: a late complication of ileocolonic anastomosis
Sondheimer J. M., Sokol R. J., Narkewicz M. R., Tyson W. J. Pediatr 1995; 127: 225-30
Six children presented with prior intestinal resection performed in infancy because of sequelae from necrotizing enterocolitis or from congenital abnormalities who developed bleeding from anastomotic ulceration. In nearly all cases, other causes of gastrointestinal bleeding had been diagnosed previously. All but one patient required surgical resection of the anastomosis.
